George Michael's $1.7 Million Arabian Gig
by Staff

Pop star George Michael has reportedly signed a $1.7 million (£1 million) deal to perform at a lavish Abu Dhabi hotel next month (Nov08) - despite recently staging a series of "retirement" shows.

The singer performed at London's Earl Court in August (08) in a set of final concerts dubbed The Final Two - fuelling speculation he is to quit performing.

But the star doesn't seem able to step away from the spotlight just yet - he has allegedly agreed to play a gig at the $ 5.3 billion (£3 billion) Emirate Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi in November (08).

According to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, tickets to the show are expected to be sold for $340 (£200) each.

The gig could be seen as a career lifeline for Michael, who was forced to apologise to fans last month (Sep08) following his arrest for drugs possession in London - his second in as many years. (c) WENN
