Iraq Vet Suicide Lawsuit: P.A. Widow Files Suit After Veterans Administration Neglect
by Jack Ryan

Iraq War Veteran Donald Woodward was in Lebanon, PA, seeking treatment for severe depression after attempting to kill himself three times before he finally succeeded, committing suicide in March of 2006.

When the war vet sought treatment from the Veterans Administration hospital in Lebanon, he wasn't seen by a psychiatrist for more than two months. His wife, Tiera Woodward, is now fighting back.

26-year-old Tiera Woodward is suing the federal government for negligence. Tiera claims doctors were too slow to diagnose her husband with severe depression - and that they should have scheduled a follow-up appointment with Donald after he revealed to them that he stopped taking his medication.

Donald Woodward's mother, Lori, is also speaking out: "I intend to make them make changes."

"I have too many friends whose kids are in Iraq. I have a nephew now in Iraq, in the same unit, and I can't have my family go through this again."
